American journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee express their thanks and gratitude to President Clinton and his team for securing their release from North Korea. The women were jailed for four months for allegedly entering the country illegally. (Aug. 5)
For a nation that … For a nation that has decided to seclude themselves from the rest of the world and posing threats to anyone who would stand in their way, on hindsight it may have been foolish to have made that documentary. We will always tend to judge their ways based on our own standards. Maybe we should accept them as they are and leave them alone. The only time we should intervene is when their nukes pose a threat to us. Anyway kudos to the documentary.
I do NOT believe … I do NOT believe the 2 girls where released only on slick willys appearance. Some day we may learn how much money or oil was transferred “under the table”to the DPRK.
i dont think anyone … i dont think anyone is stupid enough to believe kim jong il is a great man for this for this, and the north koreans are already in terms of propaganda anyway. And whether or not theyre “annoying reporters,” no ones deserves a decade of imprisonment for “trespassing.” whether or not they give a about the girls or the propaganda boost is irrelevant, these ladies were saved from 12 years of hard labor in a country on the other side of the world.
Why the would … Why the would they go into North Korea in the first place. They’re reporters, but that doesn’t give them the right to enter N. Korea illegally.
Got Bill Clinton going half way around the world to get them back!!
Kim Jong didn’t … Kim Jong didn’t want to “negotiate” as far as I’m concerned. All he really wanted was to do whatever he had to do to keep the North Koreans calling him the “Great Leader.”
So when someone like Kim Jong II has publicity from all over the world on his ass, of course he’s going to do something to make himself look like some humanitarian. He wasn’t concerned with negotiating, or the reporters, he was concerned with protecting his regime.
Let me see, they … Let me see, they purposely intrude into a hostile nation whom our former leader call them axis of evil. You think the North Koreans should have given them a welcome party for their unlawful entrance.
clinton was the … clinton was the best president we ever had!!!!!!!!!!!! Bush wouldn’t go to N Korea to rescue these girls. Clinton, you are the best!!!!
Tacky, ignorant … Tacky, ignorant remarks…blow job Bill? probably just mad because you’ve never had one….Had nothing to do with the way he performed his job
Clinton rescued two … Clinton rescued two women from 12 years of hard labor…Yeah, he’s a hero, just as he was when he was President, creating new jobs, growing the economy (not forcing us into a recession), leading our country and the world. And for your education, Gore is their because these two hostages work for him. Pretty basic stuff.
it seems like its … it seems like its all was a setup from the start. obama comes and declares they’re to talk with “dear kim”. next USA gives NK a delusion of power in negotiations by letting them take “hostages” . now , for the sake of releasing the hostage, a high profile American representative pays a visit to NK. donno but somehow this whole story seems to be very well scripted so that NK would slowly start talking
I am not trying to … I am not trying to be mean or anything but I know for a fact that it took extra money to pay extra guards for president Clinton to go to North Korea. Don’t the tax payers pay for the extra secret service men/women. If I am wrong feel free to correct me.
