Is that a separate school from usc? Can I apply at usc sjmc and go to that school? Or do I go to that school by applying at usc?

I went to USC (the REAL USC!) Their School of Journalism is a major at the actual university, so it’s located within the Columbia campus. Just apply to USC and note your preferred field of study. Good luck, and go Gamecocks!

Ateneo de Zamboanga University is the only school that I can think of that offers Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication.

As for the second question, I think Mass Communication is a very underrated course. Most people don’t realize how important mass media is. People who don’t know what Mass Communication really is thought of it as a course for aspiring news reporters – which is totally wrong. Mass Communication graduates have broad job options – including Public Relations, Advertising, Film, Radio, Television, etc.

You don’t need to have a specific degree to be able to go abroad. All you need to have is determination and you’ll succeed in your endeavours.

You’d probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than of becoming a TV announcer or host.

A degree in mass communication could bring you a step closer, but you still have to be exceptionally telegenic, know the right people, and work your butt off behind the scenes for a few years/decades.
