What is the code of ethics that journalist abide by?

There are a lot of ethical issues in journalism. As a journalism major, I haven’t taken any ethics courses yet (they’re taken as a junior or senior) but my begining classes have given a fair overview of ethics. The main ones include:
-Tell a person if you are recording them (Although it IS legal to record without notification in some states, it is bad ethics but ethics is a different case than legality)
-No fabrication of sources, stories, etc. (obviously)
-Usually most publications don’t run curse words unless there is a real good reason
- Also, the guideline of not publishing a minor’s name (In listing a crime) is followed
- Again, quite obvious but somewhat neglected by mainstream media such as TV, is neutrality
- There are probably plenty more, and of course anything illegal is still illegal…trespass, invasion of privacy…and so on.

Journalism ethics professor Ed Wasserman defends his decision to invite Blair in this interview. Journalism students also defend the decision.
